Today the media went to an event held at the Dello Russo Laser Vision Center in Manhattan, New York, where the famous lasik eye surgeons Doctor Joseph Delarusso and Doctor Jeffrey Delarusso introduced the most advanced eye laser available. Made by Swiss laser maker Alcon, which is said to take the concept of Custom-corneas to a new level.

Since Dr. Joseph Dellarusso introduced laser eye surgery, or LASIK, to the nation in the 90's, he has been seen as the leader in the lasik eye surgery revolution. Dr. Delarusso is the surgeon who have been leading the implementation of procedures such as Down-Up Lasik, Flying-Spot Lasik, Tracking, and in recent years the No-blade lasik.

And now Dr. Joseph Delarusso does it again, with the said Custom-Cornea by Alcon.

Alcon Inc. has chosen the two Delarusso doctors to introduce their newest eye laser called tje the Eye-Q. The name is meant to make us think about the thinking man’s laser.

Alcon believes that it is currently the most advanced laser in the market. Although lasik eye surgery is said to be quite safe, the EYE-Q is even more precise than the other lasik eye surgery lasers on the market, since it only performs customized lasik. This specialization of the laser reducing and improving some common lasik side effects.

Every patient receives a unique treatment that is custom made to fit his eye structure so that each and every person gets the best vision he can hope for. No two lasik surgery treatments will likely be the same, explains Dr. Delarusso.

Patient comfort has been enhanced by the speed of this new tracking flying-spot laser. The average treatment takes about 10 seconds, allowing a more comfortable laser experience.

Dr. Dellarusso says that the no-blade laser takes merely 20 seconds to make a flap. Because of the great speed of the two lasik lasers there is no need for eye drops, which makes the overall lasik procedure last only a few minutes for each eye.

Dr. Delarusso stated that just when you think lasik can’t get any better, the new Eye-Q laser comes and takes us beyond Custom-cornea lasik.
